Field trips can be a part of an earned badge, or something fun that the girls want to do.
When planning a trip, keep the following in mind:
1 Check Volunteer Essentials to make sure you have the required adult/girl ratio.
2 Make sure any organization you are working with has a Certificate of Insurance on file with council.
3 Make sure every participating girl and adult are registered and that adults (including drivers) have a cleared background check.
4 Every girl needs to have a signed permission slip for any activity outside of the regular meeting place.
5 All participants (girls AND adults) need to have completed a health history form in case of a medical emergency (adult forms can be in sealed envelopes to be opened only if necessary). Be aware of any allergies and protocol to deal with them.
6 Service Unit Manager approval is needed for any trip ( complete the Troop Trip Application which can be submitted via email)
7. An extra permission slip is is needed for high-risk activities.
8. Council approval is needed for trips of 3 nights or more.
